Join us for a special autumn tree tour with Brian Cunningham, our Head Gardener, preceded by a delicious Scottish breakfast prepared by the Palace Chef.

Enjoy a hearty breakfast before setting off with Brian to explore the Palace grounds and discover the fascinating heritage of our tree collection.

The tour will include the magnificent Douglas Fir where you will learn about the fascinating connection between David Douglas and Scone Palace, as well as the Victorian Pinetum, home to a remarkable collection of exotic conifers. Brian will also share stories behind the garden's design and layout, pointing out the many trees planted by royalty over the years. The tour will also continue into the Walled Garden, where there is plenty to discover including an orchard of fruit trees. Discover the traditional skills involved in training, shaping and pruning the trees, alongside a new ornamental hedge which appears to grow on stilts!

From historic specimens and royal plantings to newly established fruit trees, this special autumn tour offers a unique opportunity to discover the trees of Scone Palace and the stories they have to tell - all guided by the person who knows them best.
