CLOSED

During November and December we do not charge an admission fee for the Gardens, but we do ask for a suggested payment of £5 which goes towards the maintenance of the gardens over the winter months. Donation boxes are located at the Ticket Hut and outside the Food Shop, or you may scan the QR code at each location for online payment.

Palace

The Palace is closed from the 1st November, reopening at 10am on the 1st April.

Palace

The Palace will be open 7 days a week for the 2025 summer season as follows:

1st April - 31st October

10am - 5.30pm, last entry 4pm

Coffee Shop and Food Shop close at 4.30pm.

Tickets can be purchased at the gate but we recommend pre-booking your visit here. Tickets for Season 2025 will be available from 1st November 2024.

Booking tickets is advisable for visiting the Palace and Gardens. We also offer season tickets, garden admissions, Friends of Scone Palace memberships, events tickets, and group bookings. if tickets are showing as not available, it may be because we have an event on that day. How To Get Here

Scone Palace is located in the heart of Perthshire, in central Scotland. It is very easy to get here using public transport and by car or cycling. Here you can find details on how to get to Scone Palace.

By Car

From Dundee, Edinburgh or Glasgow, follow the signs for the ‘A93 Braemar’. We are situated two miles north of Perth on the A93.

By Bicycle

We have racking available for the storage of cycles. For information on cycle routes in Perthshire please visit Perth and Kinross Council. For information on cycle hire please visit Scottish Cycling Holidays. Details of the National Cycle Network can be found here.

Public Transport

By Bus

By Rail

Perth Rail Station is situated 3 miles from Scone Palace. For more information visit Scotrail's website https://www.scotrail.co.uk. Taxis are readily available for the 10-minute trip from the station to the Palace.

By Air

Scone Palace is a 40 minute drive from Edinburgh International Airport. Follow the signs for Perth (M90), and then for Scone Palace. The smaller airport of Dundee is 22 miles away. Scone Airport, which has facilities for light aircraft, is 10 minutes away.

Dog-Friendly

Scone Palace is a dog friendly venue allowing behaved dogs on leads to enjoy walks in the grounds. We provide watering points and poo bins throughout the site, for wellbeing, convenience, and use.

Dogs on leads are welcome in our Old Kitchen and in our Shop, as well as through the Gardens and Grounds.

We also allow you to bring your furry friends to Scone Palace for our outdoor events throughout the year, including our annual highlight Paws at the Palace.

At all times the dogs are with their owners, it’s the owners who have a legally responsible for their wellbeing. If we see any pet in distress, in a vehicle or otherwise, then we as a venue will follow the SSPCA advice on actions to follow.
