Important Info

Experience a spectacular Jousting event on Saturday 20th June and Sunday 21st June 2026. Witness the clashing of lances and thundering of hooves in this exciting show of bravery and pageantry. Across the weekend there will be three thrilling challenges to enjoy.

The challenges:

1. Crowning Palace Clash

Where James IV became kin in 1488, we are bringing the era's pageantry back in the best possible way: four armoured jousters, charging horses, and lances shattering to the crowd's cheers. Tournaments were the blockbuster entertainment of their day, part sport,. part theatre, part bragging rights, and you'll feel it from the first trumpet call. Expect colour, courtly swagger and real edge-of-your-seat drama, all set in one of Perthshire's most historic landscapes.

2. Perth vs Perth Showdown

An international rivalry. Challengers from far away lands have crossed the seas claiming they come from another Perth, greater than Scotland's! Join us as knights ride out to answer the challenge and defend Perth's honour. Perth meets Perth. Scotland versus Australia, at Scone Palace this Father's Day.

3. Honour, Guilt & Glory

James IV was crowned at Scone in 1488, after a rebellion in which his father, James III, died - and later tradition says James IV wore a heavy penitential chain around his waist for the rest of his life. Steeped in Stewart-era drama, four jousters ride in late-15th/early-16th-century style, bringing themes of family, honour, and consequence vividly to life.
