Discover the extraordinary Jacobite history of the Murray family who have called Scone Palace home since 1604 on this exclusive guided tour led by William, Viscount Stormont.
As you journey through the Palace, you will hear how the Murray family became closely involved in the political upheaval of the Jacobite era. Following the 1707 Treaty of Union, the 5th Viscount Stormont became closely associated with the Jacobite side which cased significant consequences and marked a turning point in the family's history. In the generations that followed, the family's story remained intertwined with the Jacobite cause. Shifting loyalties, personal relationships, and political pressures meant that members of the Murray family experienced this period in different and often unexpected way.
This story, its characters and its consequences will be explored in detail on this tour. William, Viscount Stormont will bring these stories to life, offering insight into the people, decisions and family legacy behind them.
